The legendary Houdinis most
death- defying outdoor stunt will be reintroduced by world-renowned magician and escape artist, Dixie Dooley. On October 5 at high
noon, Dixie Dooley will be shackled, bound in a regulation straightjacket and suspended by
his ankles 60 feet above the ground by a crane, while security guards are present. The
escape will take place in front of the Plaza Hotel. He must free himself before the blood
rushes to his head, causing him to fall into unconsciousness.
The event is free to the public, kicking off
the Houdini Lives Again Show in Las Vegas, along with a free exhibit at the Plaza
Hotels Theater. Dooley is the leading performing authority on the life and times of
Houdini.
Houdini Lives Again in Las Vegas will
present a chronology of the master magicians life from the early stage magic Houdini
presented in tent shows and dime museums at the beginning of his career.
The Las Vegas Sun stated that Dixie Dooley
is as clever as Houdini. Marie Blood, Houdinis niece, said he would have loved this
show.
One of the highlights of Houdini Lives Again
is the giant milk can escape. Dooley will be hand-cuffed with Smith and Wesson handcuffs and submerged in the milk can, topped off with the metal
lid, and locked with massive padlocks from the outside! Dooley will have to hold his
breath for two minutes in order to make the escape. |
