Through individual inquiries and
explorations, my friends and I take great pride in discovering new places to have a great
time, that we can later share and be admired for knowing how to live the good life.

I’ve been
around the block a time or two, and it’s been some time since I’ve been
sincerely excited about a new place. They had the right idea when they boldly painted
across the face of the buildings, "Come In and Be Surprised." It should have
been the name of the place because I did and I was, but this being Las Vegas and all
things considered, the sign above reads the legend "The Four Aces."
Surprised is an
understatement considering I found myself saying WOW... Aloud... Repeatedly!
Behold a premier
NASCAR Bar. A "Race Place" with all the trimmings. Just when you think you may
recover from the shock of your initial impression, you notice owners Ingrid and
Mike’s pride and joy. An incredible 1/100th scale architectural replica of the
Daytona International Speedway. The attention to detail is absolutely maddening.
The walls are
covered with an assortment of racing memorabilia and just about every other sport in the
civilized world.
The multiple
satellite dishes continuously feed the eight screens with a wide variety of sports action
which also features Speed Vision, four channels of petal to the metal excitement.
The Monday Night
Football party (which I am now a regular) is evolving into a local cult event partly, due
to the reduced brew prices and promotional giveaways too numerous to list. All right, but
just a couple. How would you like to win a trip for two to the Pro Bowl in Honolulu in
February? There’s a trip for two to Germany to be had, and every week they’re
giving away several pairs of tickets to various races at Las Vegas Motor Speedway and...
wait! I said just a couple.
Get out the
throat spray, cause Wednesday and Thursday is karaoke night. Don’t be shy, it’s
a lot of fun. Friday through Sunday showcases the talent of Ron Livingston. There’s
no cover charge.
Better renew your
membership to the health club, because the food is to die for. I kid you not! Chef Bill
French has put together a bill of fare to delight the senses and your wallet too! |

I’ve been
saving the best for last. It’s October, and you know what that means…
